Our Impact

We support the “front-line” of the mentoring field by providing funding and services that help direct-service providers do their jobs. Our purpose is to help build the capacity of mentoring organizations so they can reach out to the greatest number of young people in need.

Since 2004, Washington State Mentors has awarded 75 grants worth almost $4 million to direct-service mentoring providers across the state. We’ve also delivered more than 100 training sessions on a range of topics ranging from finding federal grants to best practices in mentoring.

We measure our success by the number of youth served by our members. Our membership has grown from fewer than 40 organizations in 2004 to nearly 200 today. During that time, the number of young people mentored in Washington has grown from 12,000 to almost 30,000.
